Bright Side Dental
Do you brush and floss? Is proper dental health a priority? Do you strive for that winning smile? If so, Michigan-based Bright Side Dental might help you pay for college.
To be considered for the $500 cash prize, qualified applicants who live within the Bright Side Dental service area must write a one-page essay in response to this prompt: Explain the importance of maintaining good dental hygiene and how poor dental hygiene can affect your overall health. Bright Side Dental Scholarship, $500. Deadline: April 15.
White Carnation Scholarship
Just for senior guys: Are you going to Michigan State University? Are you a “deserving gentleman?” The MSU Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity is awarding three $1,000 scholarships to college men who demonstrate characteristics that are consistent with Delta Chi values. Applicants must already be enrolled as freshmen or planning to enroll at Michigan State University as freshmen or transfer students in the Fall of 2011.
The application includes a short essay (200-500 words) explaining how you believe you exemplify the qualities of leadership, scholarship, responsibility, philanthropy, and commitment to excellence. Applications are available in high school counseling offices. Deadline: April 30.
Birmingham Branch American Association of University Women
Here’s one for the young women. If you will be attending a Michigan college, check out this $1,500 scholarship opportunity from the Birmingham Branch American Association of University Women. The award will be based on academic performance, financial need, school and community activities, enrollment in a Michigan college and employment experience. If you live in the Birmingham/Bloomfield area, your school should have application forms. Deadline: April 19.
Merck Will to Win
Asthma is a tremendous challenge. Merck Respiratory knows that and wants to help you in your quest to lead a healthy life at college and beyond. If you are an outstanding high school senior, disciplined, determined and successful in managing your asthma, and are pursuing higher education, you may be qualify for a Will to Win Scholarship.
Applicants must submit an essay in response to this prompt: How has my Will to Win helped me to achieve excellence despite asthma? What is my most significant accomplishment? What are my future goals? Will to Win: Merck’s scholarships for students with asthma. $5,000, in 5 different categories. Deadline: April 30.
