Who is it for?
Students entering grades 9-12 who want to improve their writing skills. Whether you are a struggling student who needs to hone the basics or a confident writer who wants to take it up a notch, you will gain skills and confidence to enter the next school year better prepared to master complex assignments.
What is the time commitment?
One hour of instruction and one hour of homework each day for four days. The instructor will review homework assignments and respond with comments and suggestions by the next weekday. Everything will be recorded, so you can catch up later if you’re not available for our live sessions. All recordings will be available for two weeks after the workshop ends.
Who teaches the workshop?
Joe Kane, Wow Writing Workshop’s senior writing coach, is a writer, poet and editor who works with Wow’s college essay, ACT/SAT and creative writing students. Joe has taught everything from college-level English composition to elementary school poetry workshops. He loves to write and teach and is a master at identifying and supporting the needs of students of all abilities.
What should I expect?
This workshop will help you better understand key principles, give you an opportunity to practice outside of class assignments and put you on the path to performing better in school. If you need more than that, we can talk after the workshop. We’re confident you will learn a lot and improve your skills.
